2. General information on data processing
As a matter of principle, we process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide our website and our services. Processing regularly takes place only with the consent of the data subject, unless the processing is permitted by law.
Legal bases: Depending on the processing operation, we rely on consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b)), a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) or legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Storage period: Personal data is deleted as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise.
3. No external services, no tracking
This website deliberately embeds no external content and no tracking services: no web analytics tool, no advertising or social media modules and no external maps. In particular, fonts are served locally from our own server (no calls to Google Fonts). Visiting our pages therefore transfers no data to third parties.
4. Provision of the website, log files and anonymous usage statistics
Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically records technical data about the accessing device. This includes in particular browser type and version, operating system, internet service provider, date and time of access and the referrer URL.
According to our hosting provider IONOS, IP addresses are anonymised at the point of collection. Complete IP addresses are not stored permanently. The anonymised log files are kept for a maximum of 8 weeks. They serve to ensure the functionality, security and stability of the website and to produce anonymous, aggregated statistical analyses of its use, for example to determine page views and the reach of individual pages.
In addition, we record in aggregated and anonymous form how often individual functions of CalcTape Web (calctape.app) are used, for example share links, themes or settings. Only event counters without any personal reference are stored. No cookies, IP addresses, identifiers or calculation content are stored in the process. Any inference about individual persons is ruled out.
Usage measurement takes place without an external web analytics tool and exclusively on the basis of anonymous or anonymised data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in the secure provision, technical optimisation and needs-based further development of our offering. Consent is not required, as there is neither a personal reference nor access to your terminal equipment.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use no tracking or marketing cookies. Where cookies are technically necessary for operation, they are used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Language choice (lang): When you open a German or English page, a technically necessary cookie remembers that language (valid for one year), so that the start address takes you straight to your language version on your next visit. Only de or en is stored – no identifier, no personal reference, no analysis.
Local storage of settings (localStorage): In order to provide our services, we store certain settings exclusively in your local browser storage. This data remains on your device, is not transmitted to us and is never analysed.
- On this website: your chosen appearance (light/dark).
- In the application (calctape.app): additionally your individual configurations (for example key assignments) and the calculation you are currently working on, so that your data is not lost when the page is reloaded.
Please note: this locally stored data is lost if you delete your browser data or use private browsing mode. Please therefore save important calculations as a file or as a link.
Local storage is necessary for the application to work (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete this data yourself at any time via your browser settings.
6. Contact form and email contact
When you use our contact form, we process the data you provide: title, name, email address, the selected subject and your message text. This data is transmitted to us by email solely in order to process your enquiry and is not passed on to third parties. If you contact us by email directly, we process the personal data transmitted accordingly.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and, where a contract is being initiated, additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as the conversation has ended and no retention obligations conflict with deletion. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future; in that case the conversation cannot be continued.
7. Encryption (SSL/TLS)
For security reasons this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar and by "https://" in the address.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15) to the data we hold about you, the purposes, categories, recipients, storage period and origin.
- Rectification (Art. 16) of inaccurate data, or completion of incomplete data.
- Erasure (Art. 17), provided no statutory retention ground or legitimate interest prevents it.
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18) under certain conditions.
- Data portability (Art. 20) in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- Objection (Art. 21) on grounds relating to your particular situation; in the case of direct marketing, at any time and without giving reasons.
- Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3)) with effect for the future.
- No automated decision-making in individual cases (Art. 22).
- Complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77) if you consider the processing to be unlawful.
